Why He Says He Misses You But Does Nothing

He says he misses you, but he does not call, plan, repair, or show up. Sis, that sentence needs action behind it.

The message sounds sweet, but nothing changes

He says he misses you. Maybe it comes late at night, after days of silence, or right when you are finally starting to feel okay. And yes, the words hit because part of you misses him too.

But then he does nothing. No plan to see you. No real apology. No conversation about what happened. No effort that would turn “I miss you” into something you can actually trust.

Missing someone is not the same as showing up

People can miss the comfort, attention, chemistry, or version of themselves they felt around you. That does not automatically mean they are ready to treat you better.

If “I miss you” is followed by the same inconsistency, it may be more about relieving his feelings than repairing yours. Sweet words can still be low effort when they do not come with movement.

Look for repair, not emotion

The takeaway is to let actions define the sentence. If he misses you, does he make time? Does he communicate clearly? Does he own what hurt you? Does he offer something different from the cycle you already know?

Emotion without effort can keep you attached to potential. Repair is what tells you whether the feeling has maturity behind it.

Big sis takeaway

You do not have to be cold. You can believe he misses you and still require more than a sentence.

If he says he misses you but does nothing, let the nothing count. Missing you quietly does not rebuild trust, and missing you casually does not earn access.
